Rolling Stock started as a mobile chandlery shop in 1989 delivering to the cruising yachts visiting Palma. The philosophy was to provide an excellent service through providing a wide range of products at fair prices and the ability to fulfill the needs of visiting yachts. Over the years the company has expanded its range of services, invested in training, equipment and facilities and continued to find the best way to service the yachting industry. RS Finishing & Refinishing was started in 1999 and has lead the way in yacht finishing sector which was recognized by the ISO certification 14001 for quality management and 9001 for care of the environment. RS Finishing & Refinishing were the first paint company in Mallorca to be awarded these Bureau Veritas certificates.

The growth of the marine industry in Palma has fuelled the diversification of the Rolling Stock group and now they employ up to 90 people. RSB Rigging was started in 2005 complementing the services already offered, providing yachts with running & standing rigging, engineering & servicing and rig pulling & stepping.

The Team

Bernie Tiltman (Director), a Mallorca resident for 20 years started the idea of a 'mobile chandlery' back in 1989. The company started with just one vehicle and a small range of stock. By satisfying the customers and identifying the needs of cruising yachts the business potential was clear to see. Bernie continues to run Rolling Stock Head Office providing the invaluable back up, logistics, and communications management to run the company efficiently.

Mark Conyers (CEO) joined the company in 1999 bringing his experience from the paint and finishing business having worked with Ocean Coatings for four years. Due to the rapid growth of Palma as a prime location for yacht service and the vision of Mark and Bernie, the company continued to develop and diversify. Mark believes strongly in investing in equipment, ideas and good personnel; recruiting and training experienced managers to lead the individual teams in each part of the company.

Rupert Savage (Managing Director), also a former Captain was recruited in 2006. Rupert acts in a central role between the client and the project managers to ensure efficiency and correct working practices for each contract. Rupert is additionally responsible for identifying new opportunities and managing the strategic development of the Group.
